Mr. Reyes hails from El Paso, TX, and has proudly called this area home since 1991. He began his academic journey at Austin Community College, earning his Associate’s Degree before transferring to Southwest Texas State University, where he graduated with Honors with a Bachelor's in Music.
After spending a decade in the private sector working at a Golf School, he returned to his passion for education, earning a Master’s in Music Education from Texas State University—again with Honors. In 2007, he embarked on his teaching career at Chapa Middle School and later became the founding Choir Director at Simon Middle School when it opened in 2009.
Driven to expand his impact in education, Mr. Reyes earned his Principal Certification with Honors from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2020. Since then, he has proudly served as an Assistant Principal at Simon Middle School.
He shares his love for music and education with his wonderful wife, who teaches Choir at Wallace Middle School. Together, they are raising two children who attend Hays CISD schools. Their family is completed by their beloved pet, Charlie Wicket Reyes.

Hello, Wolverines! I am excited to begin the new school year at Simon Middle School, where I will be starting my 19th year in education. I am proud to say that I have spent the entirety of these 19 years with Hays CISD, and I am 100% TEAM Hays. It is an honor to be serving as the Academic Dean at Simon Middle School. I earned a master's degree in education at Texas State University and hold a bachelor's degree in Visual Communications. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful grown daughters. During my time with Hays CISD, I have served in various roles, including Grade level lead, District Leadership Team member, District Instructional Coach for Strategic Instruction Model Routines, ARD Facilitator, and an administrator in Middle School. I look forward to an exciting year. Let's Do This!
