Amber.Limerick@hayscisd.netWith 22 years in education, I bring a deep passion for student learning, teacher support, and innovative instructional practices. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas State University, graduating cum laude. I spent 16 years as an ELAR and Social Studies teacher, including several years as the Social Studies department chair, where I led my team in implementing blended learning strategies. My experience extends internationally—I spent six years teaching EFL in public schools and English literature in an international school in Taiwan, which shaped my appreciation for culturally responsive teaching and diverse pedagogical approaches. As an instructional coach for three years, I focused on co-teaching models and culturally responsive strategies to support student success. Now, as an Assistant Principal at Chapa Middle School, I am committed to fostering a school culture where both students and educators thrive.
I believe in cultivating a community of responsible, compassionate, and well-prepared citizens. My career has been dedicated to serving Title I schools because I firmly believe that every student deserves a high-quality education and the opportunity to succeed. As a campus leader, my role is to support teachers by removing barriers so they can focus on what they do best—engaging and inspiring students. I am passionate about restorative practices, helping students reflect on their decisions and understand their impact on others. Additionally, I advocate for experiential, brain-based learning that incorporates movement, critical thinking, relevancy, and problem-solving—strategies that keep students engaged and connected to their learning. Beyond my role as an instructional leader, I also serve as the campus 504 coordinator and testing coordinator, ensuring that all students receive the support and accommodations they need to succeed. At Chapa Middle School, I strive to create an environment where all students feel valued, challenged, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
